Everyone’s a hero in their own way, especially the Pennsylvania Browncoats

The first event of this year’s season has gone off like one of Jayne’s grenades, but in a good way! Organiser Matt sent us the write up below, it’s a brilliant example of an affiliate event and shows just how powerful they can be when trying to raise funds for Equality Now, and other local charities.

If you are thinking of holding a screening of Dr Horrible but the restrictions seem too troublesome, e-mail the Global Team at signal@cantstoptheserenity.com and we can talk you through how to work within the guidelines. It’s easier than it looks and can be a fantastic way to mix up your fundraising efforts. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing the Captain singing!

“The Delaware Valley Brigade of the Pennsylvania Browncoats, supported by both the River and Bridges and the Susquehanna Valley Brigades, as well as the Browncoats of NYC, just finished our long weekend at Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con, thanks to their generous donation of a FREE 10×20 booth, where we collected $370 in donations for Equality Now in exchange for our shiny merchandise.… Read more…

Browncoats, Represent!

Cunning hat? Check. Unfeasibly tight pants? Check. 2018 Can’t Stop the Serenity t-shirt? No? Well let’s sort that right out! T-shirts, hoodies and tank tops proudly displaying this year’s winning design are now available through Represent.

You may recall that last year the t-shirts ran as a series of ‘campaigns’ so that people could order throughout the season and not have to wait until the end of the season to get their shinies. We are running things the same way this year so you can order any time before October, but please note that items may not arrive for up to 3-8 weeks after the end of each campaign so order well in advance if you plan on wearing your new shirt to a local event.… Read more…

Could you be a CSTS Global Sponsor?

Each year the global CSTS team supports events in cities all over the world as they raise money for Equality Now and a range of other amazing local charities.

Part of this support is providing merchandise and other items that can be used as prizes at local events in raffles, auctions or competitions.

This year we are again looking for organisations or individuals to help us with this by providing items which we can distribute to the events worldwide.

There are some simple guidelines for what can be accepted:-

  • Ideally we would like 40 of any item so we can distribute one to each participating city
  • Firefly/Serenity or general Whedonverse items are preferable
  • No weapons or weapon-like objects please
  • Preferably nothing that might easily be broken in transit, for example mugs or other delicate items
  • It would also be great if the items were fairly easily to ship as events are all over the world
  • Items must be received by 20 May 2017 to ensure we can start shipping them out before the first events of the season

If you would like to support us but don’t have 40 items, we would still be very interested in talking to you about putting those items in the global auction which happens at the end of each CSTS season, the proceeds of which all go to Equality Now.… Read more…
