Head to FanX this weekend for a sporking good time!

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to head to FanX this weekend (an appearance by our beloved Badger being one of them) the Utah Browncoats are holding their annual Dr. Horrible affiliate event there again this year.

They always seem to come up with some awesome interactive element to their events and organiser William says “This year we’re in everyone’s favorite crazy town where Jayne’s a hero. Drop by the booth to ride the mule and see if Jayne’s eyes follow you everywhere you go! Then stay for our screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog.”

“Our many thanks to FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention which has supported us, Equality Now and local charities since its inception. This year we are proud to be donating all proceeds to support Equality Now and Best Friends Animal Society. We… Read more…

A Horrible event in Albuquerque this August

On August 24th the Albuquerque Browncoats are holding their most Horrible affiliate event yet.

Organiser Charlie says “See Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog on the big screen at Bubonicon 50 for charity! Dr. Horrible is a hilarious musical parody of super-villains, created by and starring many of your Hollywood celebs. Indulge your geeky side while doing some good. Singing along is optional!  🙂

“Join us from 9pm in the Cimarron Room at the Albuquerque Marriott Uptown for late-night fun, film, music, raffles, costumes, prizes, and more! It’s a free event for the public and for Bubonicon attendees. However, it is a charity event after all, so there is a suggested donation of $2-5.

“We have some amazing raffle and auction items including a QMx Penny maquette signed by Felicia Day, posters signed by Felicia, an even more rare Dr.… Read more…

Eagle Mountain join the ‘verse!

A very shiny welcome to the ‘verse to one of our new events this year. The mighty fine folks in Utah are branching out by holding an affiliate event in the awesomely named Eagle Mountain!

On 21st July they’re holding a potluck shindig at a local park (location can be found on their Facebook event here) and they’re planning games, food (bring a dish to share) and family-friendly fun. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for children with all proceeds going to Equality Now.

Organiser Aubri says “Several Browncoats expressed interest in an event south of Salt Lake City and possibly more kid friendly/ family oriented. I personally love all the charitable things Browncoats do and was more then happy to help out.… Read more…

Time to make a difference in San Antonio

In another great example of an affiliate event, the Alamo City Browncoats will be  attending NDG Sci-Fest this weekend – July 7th and 8th. Organiser Mel says “Wonderland of the Americas will host this fantastic, free, family-friendly science fiction convention and we’ll be collecting donations for Equality Now and Kids Need To Read. These organizations do such wonderful work to make the world better for all. Let’s do what we can to help them carry on the good fight. Our collection jars will be waiting for you.”

As well as raising money through donations, they will be running a Firefly trivia competition with some shiny prizes for those who know their ‘verse.

A Horrible way to kick off the 2018 CSTS season!

Those super shiny (and super keen) Browncoats in Philadelphia saw an opportunity to hold an affiliate event at Wizard World and even though it is outside the official CSTS season, they grabbed the chance with two, presumably blue, hands!

On Saturday 19th May, at 7pm, they are hosting a screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog in room 126AB at Pennsylvania Convention Center as part of the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con.

Organiser Matt says “We’re asking for $2 donations at The Pennsylvania Browncoats/Browncoat Ball table (booth 1829) or at the door for admission to the screening. Admission donation includes 1 door prize ticket, additional door prize tickets available for $1 each, and all proceeds benefit Equality Now.

They will also have merchandise at the booth (all proceeds to Equality Now) and will have a table for Firefly gaming so if you’re lucky enough to be heading to Wizard World pop on by, say hello and whilst you’re there ask for details about the Philadelphia Serenity screening later in the season!… Read more…
