Well you Big Damn Heroes, it’s the time you’ve all been waiting for – registration is now open for this year’s Can’t Stop the Serenity season!!
As last year, the season will run from 1st June to 31st October and you can host a screening or affiliate event at any point during that time.
If you’re thinking about running an event check out the Host an Event section of the website where you’ll find a whole range of resources that’ll help including the Expression of Interest form which you can use if you’re still working out details, or, if you already know what you’re going to do, the Event Registration form.
Not sure how to get started? Questions about hosting an event should be directed to events@cantstoptheserenity.com. You can also contact the global team through the official CSTS Facebook page or via Twitter (@csts) if you can’t find the droid…sorry…answer you’re looking for or if you just want some general advice or guidance on what you could do.
On the website there is also information on holding affiliate events, we’re encouraging cities to look at holding an affiliate event alongside their main event this year. An affiliate event is simply an event that doesn’t involve a screening of Serenity. Examples of previous affiliate events include screenings of Dr Horrible, themed quiz nights and even simple games nights – basically any event where Browncoats can get together, have fun and raise some money for Equality Now.
Obviously screening Serenity is awesome but there is huge potential in broadening out the ‘Verse.
Important dates
Registration for 2018 events opens 1st March 2018
Registration closes based on when your event will be held.
• For events to be held in June or July – Registration closes 1st May 2018
• For events to be held in August or September – Registration closes 1st July 2018
• For events to be held in October – Registration closes 1st September 2018
Unfortunately no event registration forms can be accepted after 1st September 2018.
