The HSU Browncoats are the Humboldt State University student arm of the Humboldt (County) Browncoats in Arcata, California and they have had a CSTS event in Arcata for 4 years now
This year’s event is on the 25th September and is at the Arcata Theatre Lounge, 1036 G Street in Arcata.
Organiser Craig says “The organising team is Craig (me), Humboldt Browncoats and retired advisor to the Humboldt State University Browncoats, Raven (Capt) and Kelsey (Mechanic).”
“Our CSTS event will feature a trivia contest, cosplay, and a prize drawing, including Firefly games, talking dinosaurs, and a complete set of the Firefly Board Game.”
Mechanic Kelsey says “I have identified as a Browncoat for many
years now. Ever since watching the show I have been hooked! When I found out there was a Humboldt Browncoats I participated every chance I got. Then a few years later we started the HSU Browncoats (Humboldt State University). I have been endearingly considered the “pilot” of the club, supporting our Captain (or president) and advisor in anyway I can. I have always thrown myself into the task of bringing Firefly to all the people I can. Can’t Stop The Serenity has been a wonderful celebration and way to do this. Also, killing with my brain aside, I am glad to be doing good works. I designed and procured the artist’s permission for our flyer this year.”
The Arcata Theatre Lounge will be selling delicious food from samosas to pizza as well as Mudder’s Milk and other beverages and the evening culminates of course with a screening of The Big Damn Movie and all profits will go to Equality Now.
