This weekend the Browncoats of New York City will be holding their 11th Can’t Stop the Serenity fundraiser at Slattery’s Midtown Pub in Midtown Manhattan.
To celebrate, they have packed an amazing number of fun things into their afternoon which starts at 2pm on Saturday. There will be various raffles, a costume competition (Firefly, Serenity or wider Whedon-verse costumes all eligible), charity auctions of memorabilia and autographs and a live music performance by the amazing and very popular Sean Faust.
There will even be a Serenity photo booth and the evening will culminate in dinner and a screening of the Big Damn Movie itself – Serenity.
The venue features a projection screen and multiple TVs throughout, so there are no bad seats.
If you are anywhere near this event it sounds way too good to miss.
Tickets are on sale now through Brown Paper Tickets
General Admission Tickets are $45 and include admission, door prize raffle ticket, appetizer, buffet dinner, dessert.
A limited supply of Captain’s Table tickets are also available for $75 and include preferred seating for Serenity screening, a special gift and all general admission items, plus a bonus door prize raffle ticket.
The Browncoats of New York City had planned to give all of their donation to Equality Now but following the horrific events in Orlando recently they are now donating 25% of the money earned to the Victims Support Go Fund Me page that has been established by Equality Florida (a great organisation working for equality for the LGBT community in Florida, but not associated with Equality Now).
If you can’t make it to the event, you can still contribute to the PulseVictimsFund here.
