It’s the last multiple event weekend of the season, and what a weekend it’s going to be with 3 big screening events.
It all kicks off when we welcome Jenkintown, just north of Phildelphia, to the CSTS family on Friday 9th October with a midnight screening of Serenity at the Hiway Theatre. Browncoats will be gathering at Guild Hall Brewing Company, just a few doors down from the theatre, from 9pm for a friendly dinner and an opportunity to socialise before the movie. The doors for Serenity open at 11.30 so there’s plenty of time to buy your raffle tickets and find your seats.
Tickets are only $12 and available online here on the Hiway Theatre website. It’s a 200 seat venue and they’d really like to fill it so bring all your friends for a shiny night out. All proceeds go to Equality Now. For event updates please visit the Philadelphia CSTS Facebook event page.
Paris returns as a Can’t Stop the Serenity city for the first time since 2007 at the Bibliothèque Louise Michel this Saturday 10th October! They will be showing Serenity and have some shiny including exclusive poster with a drawing of Kaylee by local artist Lowenael, a cunning hat, badges, comics, jewellery and more to win in the raffle. There may also be tabletop game playing during the afternoon.
Entry is free but they have been running a crowdfunding campaign to ensure the event costs are covered. There are some fantastic rewards including a Kaylee post card and CSTS 10 year merchandise, and the more money they raise over their goal means more money donated to Equality Now. This is a great opportunity to get some merch if you can’t make it to a CSTS event this year, especially if you’re in Europe as the shipping will be lower. There’s still a few days left in the campaign, it ends 9th October, so please support it. Check out the Browncoats France website for more event information and updates.
The Utah Browncoats Society are putting on something special for their debut Fort Douglas Can’t Stop the Serenity event at the historic Post Theater this Saturday 10th October. They’re starting at 2pm with a panel with award winning visual effects legend Loni Peristere, co-founder of Zoic Studios, who did the effects for Firefly, Serenity and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After the panel at 6pm they will be screening Serenity in addition to much shiny to win in the raffle and auction.
There are many different ticket packages available for the event from panel and screening tickets which include an exclusive swag bag, VIP experiences and tickets for just the screening. For more information see the website. All proceeds go to Equality Now and Kids Need to Read.
