It’s a truly international weekend with Can’t Stop the Serenity events across 3 continents.
It all starts this Friday night in Lawrence, KS at the historic Liberty Hall with a screening event. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, watch Serenity rise again on the big screen and sing along with everyone’s favourite villain Dr Horrible. If you’ve never experienced Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog* at a CSTS event, it is something truly special, a great story with most of the audience singing.
Tickets are just $10 and are available at the Liberty Hall box office in advance or at the door on the night. All proceeds go to Equality Now. For more event news visit the Facebook page.
We then jump to the other side of the world on Saturday where founding city Melbourne, Australia celebrates their 10th year as a Can’t Stop the Serenity city! The doors of the Village Roadshow Theatrette at the State Library of Victoria open at 10am for a full day of fun featuring Serenity on the big screen, a costume contest, raffles a collectibles auction and maybe a surprise or two.
Tickets are available online here for $25. As an incentive to buy tickets, for every goal they reach, a shiny prize will be added to the door prize pool, and if they get to 200 a Nathan Fillion autograph is added to the mix! You can also pre-order merch here. Keep up to date on the event via their website, Faccebook event page and Twitter. All proceeds go to Equality Now.
And finishing up Saturday we cross to the UK where Edinburgh returns for their screening event at Cineworld, ten years to the day that Serenity had its Worldwide Gala Première at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in the very same cinema! Doors open at 3.45pm so there’s time to purchase merchandise and raffle tickets before the auction hosted by Jollyboat and Serenity rising again in all her glory.
You can purchase tickets for £12.00 in person at Ripper Records or online here where you can also make a donation. Merchandise is also available at the Edinburgh Browncoats online store. If you’re not close by, with The Edinburgh Festival Fringe on it’s the perfect time to make it a weekend getaway! For event updates please visit their Facebook page. All proceeds go to Equality Now and Marie Curie Hospices.
If these events aren’t local to you, have you checked our Find an Event page? Registration for 2015 events is now closed but it’s not too early to start planning for next year! You can find all the essential info here.
Up next Albuquerque’s second event of the year!
