The creative team at Big Damn Fan Films, Inc., the non-profit production company behind Browncoats: Redemption, has joined us again this year to raise money for some great charitable causes. The crew at Browncoats: Redemption have given us permission to show their film at all of our 2011 events! This year, organizers for screenings and affiliate events will receive a copy of Browncoats: Redemption with their sponsor packs. To learn more about this ambitious, charitable film, visit them HERE. We strongly encourage you to buy the DVD or Blu-Ray while you’re there!

What is Can't Stop the Serenity?
Can’t Stop the Serenity (CSTS) is a unique opportunity to indulge your geeky side while doing some good! Since 2006, fans have organized screenings of Joss Whedon's Serenity to raise funds and awareness to support Equality Now in their work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. Join us as we aim to misbehave for a good cause! There are two ways to fight a battle like ours. One is to whisper in the ear of the masses, try subtlely and gradually to change the gender expectations and mythic structures of our culture. That’s me. The other is to step up and confront the thousands of atrocities that are taking place around the world on an immediate, one-by-one basis. That’s a great deal harder, and that’s Equality Now. It’s not about politics; it’s about basic human decency.

I bought this when it came out last year and I highly recommend it!

Fantastic news! Although, is it available as a Region 2 disc for those of us holding CSTS events in the UK and Europe?
Per their website, the discs are region free and ship globally
Ah! That’ll teach me for not reading things…
Thanks!
Would love to go to one of these but I live in Northeast New Jersey, in 8 mile proximity to NYC Midtown. Any chance of having one closer to where I live?
Events are organised by volunteers, so locations depend on whether there are willing hands in the area. If there are fans in your area, it may be worth considering looking into hosting an event close to home?
