  1. When did it change to coordinator not organiser? That combined with the little flow chart makes it sound like they arent in charge, but the steering committee is. That’s not how i thought things worked here. I guess things have changed or i had the wrong end of the stick

  2. The title has changed over the years as the global movement has evolved. It was “coordinator” in 2006 and 2007, “Global Coordinator” in 2008, and “Global Organizer” in 2009 and 2010. For 2011, we’ve decided to change the title to “Global Event Coordinator” to more accurately reflect their role in coordinating the global aspect of CSTS for a given year rather than “organizing” things globally (ie. CSTS is made up of lots of individual local events, and the GEC is not actually organizing all of the events – rather, our incredible local volunteer Organizers do that).

The organisational chart is accurate in that the Global Steering Committee does sit above the Global Event Coordinator as an oversight body. The GEC reports to the GSC so that they are kept abreast of what is happening, and the GSC act as a backup should the GEC be unable to continue in their role. The role of the GSC is not to coordinate the global efforts of a given year, but rather to support the GEC, and look out for the long term future of the event. I hope that helps clear things up a little. If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to drop us an email or discuss this on the Forum.
