The events in Toronto and NYC over the weekend were a blast! Thanks to everyone who came out and sang and bought stuff and supported Equality Now with your presence. We’ve now go 3 events under our belt in 2009 and many many more to go!

CSTS Philadelphia, PA US – 12 June (Dr. Horrible)
As part of this year’s Can’t Stop the Serenity festivities, CSTS Philly is proud to announce an exclusive screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog
The sing along screening will take place on Friday, June 12 from 7:30-8:30 pm at Germ Books in Fishtown. Dress up as your favorite Hammer wielding superhero or Evil League of Evil supervillain and be prepared to sing along. You might even win a cool prize! Suggested donation is $5 at the door, with all proceeds going to Equality Now. Light refreshments will be provided. Special thanks to Germ Books & Gallery for generously co-sponsoring this event!
CSTS Los Angeles, CA US – 14 June (Serenity)
The SoCal Browncoats will be screening Serenity on Sunday June 14th at 10:00 AM at Laemmle’s Sunset 5. Please note the change of location from last year and the matinee screening time. Tickets are $15 and are available from the SoCal Browncoats website until 3 days prior to the event. This is one of four events in the SoCal area, so come out to a screening (or more than one) and help us continue the Browncoat tradition of doing good works!
CSTS Hartford, CT US – 16 June (Serenity)
Capitol Cinema Collective is proud to present CSTS Hartford at Kino Kafé at La Paloma Sabanera Coffeehouse. They will be screening Joss Whedon’s Serenity on Tuesday, June 16th at 8PM as part of the Can’t Stop the Serenity worldwide charity screenings for Equality Now. Tickets are available from the venue for a donation of $10.
CSTS Nottingham, UK – 16 June (Serenity & Dr. Horrible)
Hosted by the University of Nottingham’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Society, this event features screenings of Serenity and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. The Nottingham screening will be held in room A48 of the Sir Clive Granger Building on the University of Nottingham’s University Park Campus, on Tuesday June 16th, starting at 6.30pm (doors open at 6pm). We will be showing the film, followed by the hit web series Dr. Horrible, with a short break inbetween. Tickets cost £5, and all profits go straight to Equality Now! CSTS Salem, MA US – 19 June (Affiliate Event)
Cinema Salem will be screening Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog as an Affiliate CSTS Event. Bring your evil laugh to the heart of Salem for a night of sing-along fun!
CSTS Boston, MA US – 19 & 20 June (Serenity & Dr Horrible)
The New England Browncoats are proud to present 2 fantastic midnight screenings of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog and Serenity at the Coolidge Corner Theatre! In addition to raising money for Equality Now, non-perishable food items will be collected for the Greater Boston Food Bank at each screening. Anyone donating to this cause at the screening will be entered into a drawing to win amazing prizes including the actual “Operative” stunt costume and bank notes used in Serenity. Plus, there’ll be contests and fun outside the theatre before the screening (weather permitting). Tickets are $15 advance / $20 at the door, and are available at the Coolidge Corner Box Office.
CSTS Albuqueque, NM US – 20 June (Serenity)
Come along to the first ever CSTS event in New Mexico! The Albuquerque Browncoats will be hosting the event at The Guild Cinema from 12:30pm. Enjoy Serenity on the big screen, as well as costume and trivia contests, and a fantastic raffle. There are some awesome prizes up for grabs including framed “Better Days” artwork! Tickets are just $9 and are on sale now.
CSTS Des Moines, IA US – 20 June (Serenity)
Browncoats in Des Moines will get to see Serenity on the big screen at Fleur Cinema & Cafe from 10am. Attendees will have the chance to win some great door prizes, as well as raffles and auctions. Raffle tickets can be purchased online before the screening or on the night of the event. Event tickets are available now for $10 online or $12 at the door (cash only).
CSTS Las Vegas, NV US – 20 June (Serenity & Dr. Horrible)
The Sci-Fi Center on State Street is hosting CSTS Las Vegas! Head into the city that never sleeps for a dash of Serenity! Following that, Dr. Horrible and the Evil League of Evil will be making their grand entrance to Sin City! Starting at 7pm, admission is just $5.
CSTS Orange County, CA US – 20 June (Serenity)
The second SoCal CSTS event will take place at Starplex’s Woodbridge Movies 5 at 9pm. SoCal Browncoat events are always a blast, and there will be some fantastic prizes up for grabs. Tickets are $15 and are available from the SoCal Browncoats website until 3 days prior to the event.
CSTS Toronto, ON CA – 20 June (Serenity)
After a successful Dr. Horrible pre-event, the Toronto Browncoats have a fantastic event planned at Bloor Cinema, the corner of Bathurst and Bloor. Kicking off at 12:30pm, the event goes until 5pm after which you are invited to join us all at the Pauper’s Pub. You can pick up CSTS 2009 merchandise, and there will be prizes galore, so make sure you come along! Buffy fans will love the Joss signed vampire kitty (as seen in the Buffy Season 8 comic series), and there are also 2 (yes, 2!) Sony Blu-ray players up for grabs in the charity auction. Tickets are on sale now for $12 advance / $15 at the door.
CSTS Yellow Springs, OH US – 20 June (Serenity & Dr Horrible)
This is the first of two events for lucky fans in Ohio at the Little Art Theatre on Xenia Avenue (Rt. 68). You can watch Dr. Horrible at 3pm, followed by Serenity at 4pm. Tickets are free and donations to Equality Now are strongly encouraged. Donations will be collected at the event, and can also be made online to reserve your seat. At both showings, we’ll be selling a variety of Serenity- and Joss Whedon-related merchandise. 100% of the profits from these sales will go to benefit Equality Now. In 2008, more than $850 was donated to Equality Now from the Little Art screenings, so let’s see if we can top this in 2009!
CSTS Ottawa, ON CA – 21 June (Serenity)
The Ottawa Browncoats are back for their 3rd year! This year’s event will be held at the Mayfair Theatre on Bank St from 3:30pm. Not only are there wonderful prizes to be won, but you can also get your CSTS 2009 poster signed by the artist, Don McMillan, who is an Ottawa local. Tickets are on sale now for $10.50 advance online or $10 at the door. There will be an after-party at the Barley Mow, so come along for an afternoon of fun for a good cause!
CSTS San Diego, CA US – 21 June (Serenity)
The second last SoCal CSTS event will be held in San Diego from 5 PM at Ultrastar’s Mission Marketplace in Oceanside. Tickets are $15 and are available from the SoCal Browncoats website until 3 days prior to the event. You won’t want to miss out on what promises to be a great event!
