The countdown is on to the first Can’t Stop the Serenity event of 2009!
CSTS Dallas is first cab off the ranks with their CSTS Musical Showcase on Sunday, 24 May. Musical performers include Marian Call, Inner Frequency and Kristina Morland, so if you’re down Dallas way head on over for a fun filled night of great food, drinks, Whedonverse trivia and phenomenal music!
June is packed full of events, with over 20 events already raring to go. We’re starting off in Toronto, Canada and then the US events kick into high gear! Check our Calendar for all the
details.
We’re thrilled to see so many cities back with events in 2009, many in their fourth successful year of raising funds for Equality Now. And we’re beyond excited to see that Can’t Stop the Serenity is still growing! For the first time, folks will be able to experience the fun of a CSTS Event in Albuquerque NM, Baltimore MD, Des Moines IA, Honolulu HI, Logan UT, Nashville TN, San Antonio TX, Bristol UK and Nottingham UK.
That brings our current number of participating cities to 43, with more on the way!
Tickets are already on sale for many events, including CSTS Charlotte, CSTS Dallas, CSTS Daytona Beach, CSTS Des Moines, CSTS NYC, CSTS Seattle, CSTS St Louis, CSTS Toronto, CSTS Vancouver and CSTS Warwick, UK.
Lots of events are also taking pre-orders for this year’s souvenir T-shirts, posters and embroidered patches. Most pre-orders close on 14 May, so check the links to your nearest city and place your order!
Last, but by no means least, don’t forget to check out the current auctions in support of CSTS from the NoVa Browncoats and Austin Browncoats.
Austin Browncoats have teamed up with QMX to offer you the chance to Name the Crappy Town Where You’re a Hero! There are 50 town names up for grabs, and if you win an auction, your town’s name will be submitted and (pending studio approval) will be used in the upcoming official Atlas of the ‘Verse, Volume One: The Trader’s Guild Guide to the New Canaan Run. Auctions end on 6 May, so get in quick!!
NoVa Browncoats have some amazing autographed items up for grabs, including a copy of Better Days signed by Nathan Fillion (Mal) and Alan Tudyk (Wash), and a Serenity bank note signed by Adam Baldwin (Jayne), Ron Glass (Book), Summer Glau (River), Jewel Staite (Kaylee), Gina Torres (Zoe) and Alan Tudyk!! Auctions end on 11 May, so bid early and often!
We’d like to thank all of the amazing folks who are volunteering their time to make Can’t Stop the Serenity thrive. We’ve raised over $250,000 for Equality Now since 2006 and we’re honored to be able to continue to support their work.
Keep flying!

Is there a way to find out more about the event in Portland on June 27th? I checked the local Browncoats site for Portland, and it talks about the upcoming 2008 event. Not sure where to look next…
thanks,
Katy
I’d probably check out their forums http://forums.pdxbrowncoats.com
